Ayurvedic Pain Management Therapy

At Yuvrit, our Pain Management program targets these root causes. We combine therapeutic massage, specialized herbal remedies, and gentle detox methods to reduce inflammation and restore balance. Instead of temporary relief from painkillers, our holistic approach works to heal the source of your pain, providing natural, long-term relief.

From arthritis in the knees to chronic back pain, we help you regain comfort and mobility – while also improving your overall wellbeing.

Who Can Benefit from Pain Management

Who Can Benefit from Pain Management

Our Ayurvedic Pain Management is designed for individuals who are seeking a natural, comprehensive solution to manage pain. You may greatly benefit from this program if you:

  • Suffer from Joint Disorders: Such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondylitis, or chronic knee/shoulder pain. Ayurveda has proven herbs and therapies specifically for joint health.

  • Have Chronic Back or Neck Pain: Individuals with lower back pain, sciatica, cervical or lumbar spondylosis, or muscle spasms.

  • Experience Muscular Pains or Fibromyalgia: If you have fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, or general muscle aches and fatigue, Ayurveda’s holistic approach can help by improving circulation and removing toxin build-up in muscles.

  • Relying on Painkillers or Unsatisfied with Conventional Treatment: Anyone who has been on long-term pain medications (NSAIDs, analgesics) and is worried about side effects, or who hasn’t found adequate relief through allopathic means.

  • Stress-Induced Aches and Migraines: Those whose pain is exacerbated by stress, such as tension headaches, migraines, or neck stiffness.
Your Healing Program

Your Healing Program

  • A focused 7–14 day regimen with 25+ classical Kerala based authentic ayurvedic therapies, tailored to ease pain, reduce stiffness, and restore mobility. Treatments may include oil massages, localized heat applications, herbal liquid pouring, and nourishing bastis — all directed at calming aggravated Vata, reducing inflammation, and strengthening joints and muscles.

  • Internal herbal medicines prescribed by the doctor based on your specific condition, supporting pain relief, improved circulation, and recovery from within.

  • Personalised diet and lifestyle guidance to complement therapies, promote joint health, and prevent recurrence of pain — with simple, sustainable changes that support long-term musculoskeletal strength.

What Treatments are covered in Pain Management?

Abhyanga

A full or half-body massage with warm medicated oils chosen for your condition. The oils penetrate deeply into muscles and joints, improving circulation, reducing stiffness, and nourishing tissues. By calming aggravated Vata and mobilising toxins through the skin and channels, Abhyanga supports lasting pain relief and joint flexibility.

Dhanyamla Dhara

A continuous stream of warm, fermented herbal decoction poured rhythmically over the affected part or the whole body. The gentle heat and fermentation properties reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and ease stiffness. This therapy balances Vata-Kapha and is especially effective in subsiding swelling and chronic inflammatory changes.

Patra Pinda Sweda

A soothing therapy where warm poultices filled with medicinal leaves are massaged over the body in rhythmic strokes. The combined effect of heat and herbal potency relieves joint and muscle pain, reduces inflammation, and removes accumulated toxins. Over time, it helps restore mobility and strengthen the musculoskeletal system from the root.

Pichu

Cotton pads soaked in warm medicated oils are applied directly to the painful site, allowing sustained heat and oil penetration. This nourishes underlying tissues and nerves, reduces stiffness, and alleviates localised pain. Pichu works by calming aggravated Vata at the root of musculoskeletal discomfort, bringing both immediate relief and long-term stability.

Health benefits from Pain Management Therapy

Health benefits from Pain Management Therapy

Some key benefits of Yuvrit’s Ayurvedic pain relief program you can look forward to include:

  • Significant Pain Reduction and Lasting Relief: Many clients experience a noticeable decrease in pain intensity and frequency after completing the program.

  • Improved Joint Mobility and Flexibility: Stiff, painful joints become more flexible as the therapies work to lubricate the joints and ease muscle tension.

  • Reduced Inflammation and Swelling: The anti-inflammatory herbs and therapies will visibly reduce swelling in joints or muscles.

  • Better Posture and Strength: As your pain decreases and flexibility improves, a positive side effect is often improved posture and muscle strength.

  • Holistic Wellness Improvements: Pain doesn’t exist in isolation. Many clients find that along with pain relief, they sleep better (since pain isn’t waking them up at night, and our therapies relax them), their digestion improves (because of diet changes and reduced stress), and their mood lifts.
Who should avoid Pain Management Therapy (Contraindications)

Who should avoid Pain Management Therapy (Contraindications)

Our treatments are generally safe and gentle, but it’s important to note a few contraindications/precautions for the Pain Management program. You should inform us and exercise caution if:

  • Pregnancy: Certain intensive detox therapies or strong herbal medications are not recommended during pregnancy.

  • You have an Underlying Severe Illness: If you have conditions like uncontrolled high blood pressure, recent heart attack, or advanced kidney failure, some therapies (like long steam sessions or heavy detox) may be contraindicated.

  • Recent Surgery or Acute Injury: If you recently underwent surgery or have a fresh injury (like a fracture or torn ligament that’s in acute phase), you should avoid intensive therapies on that area until initial healing occurs.

  • Bone Infections or Severe Osteoporosis: Conditions like osteomyelitis (bone infection) or extremely brittle bones need special caution.

  • Open Wounds or Skin Conditions at Treatment Site: If you have any open wound, ulcer, or active skin disease (like severe psoriasis patches) over a painful joint or area, we will avoid direct therapy on that spot to prevent irritation or infection.

Frequently asked questions

How long will it take to feel relief through this Ayurvedic pain program?
Ayurveda is not an instant fix. If you commit to the full course, often around 4 to 6 weeks of regular treatments, you should experience substantial pain reduction and improved function. After that, we may shift to a maintenance schedule (maybe one session every few weeks) to ensure the pain doesn’t recur. Remember, we’re not just masking pain, we’re healing your body, which is why it can take some time but the relief is deeper and longer-lasting.
I am currently on prescription painkillers. Can I still undergo Ayurvedic treatment?
Yes, you can. Ayurvedic treatments can be safely done alongside most other medications. We often work in complement with allopathic treatments. It’s important, though, to inform our Ayurvedic doctor about all the medicines and supplements you are taking. That way, we can avoid any herbs that might interact
Is Ayurvedic treatment effective for severe conditions like slipped disc or sciatica?
Ayurveda has a lot to offer for disc problems and sciatica. While it may not “pop a disc back in” if there’s a major herniation, it can greatly relieve the muscle spasms, nerve inflammation, and pain associated with these conditions. Therapies like Kati Basti (warm oil pooling on the lower back) work wonders for sciatica by soothing the sciatic nerve. Herbal medicines can reduce swelling around the disc.
Do I need to follow a special diet after the treatment?
We will give you dietary guidelines to follow, as diet is an integral part of healing in Ayurveda. It’s not overly strict, mostly common-sense modifications like reducing processed and fried foods (which can increase inflammation) and adding more fresh, whole foods. For example, we often recommend warm, easy-to-digest meals with anti-inflammatory spices (like turmeric, ginger, cumin) and perhaps eliminating things like red meat or excess caffeine if you have a lot of inflammation.
